Grasslands that are properly managed through grazing are healthier and can remove more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than grasslands that are allowed to overgrow.

Laws and Regulations

In addition to common sense and the recommended Codes of Practice, livestock production is subject to provincial and federal laws and regulations governing animal treatment. Provisions in these laws and regulations protect animals from "unnecessary pain, injury, suffering or neglect". Offences are punishable by law.
