Beef cattle spend most of their lives grazing on pastures and grasslands.
Introduction
Best Management Practices is a management method that strives to achieve consistent results through determining optimal operating procedures and consistently following those procedures. Best Management Practices are used in many industries. The beef cattle industry, through its national organization, the Canadian Cattlemen's Association, has for many years promoted Best Management Practices for the cattle industry. While most of these practices remain voluntary, some, such as the Canadian Cattle Identification Program, have been deemed essential to the industry and are mandatory for all beef cattle producers.
